Brief Biography

Ivan Rodero is Assistant Research Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rutgers University and member of the Rutgers Discovery Informatics Institute (RDI2) and the NSF Cloud and Autonomic Computing Center (CAC) at Rutgers. He received an integrated BS and MS degree in 2004 and a PhD degree in February 2009 from Technical University of Catalonia, BarcelonaTech. Before moving to Rutgers, he was permanent researcher at Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Spain.

His research interests fall in the broad area of parallel and distributed computing and include high performance computing, energy efficiency, autonomic computing, grid computing, cloud computing, data analytics at extreme scales and cyber-security. His current research activities are in the extremely important area of green computing with a specific focus on power/energy efficient scalable computing and data processing. He has published over 80 technical papers in peer-reviewed journals, book chapters, and international conferences and workshops. He has also served in several committees of conferences and workshops, as editor and referee of journals and has organized workshops at HPDC and HiPC in the area of Green HPC. He is also consultant at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) - distance learning University, Spain and member of IEEE, ACM and AAAS.

His research is funded by NSF and DoE and he is PI/Co-PI of various awards totaling over 1.1 million USD and access to multiple HPC cyberinfrastructure.
